About Navagraha Homam
Navagraha Homam is a fire ritual offered to the nine planetary deities: Surya, Chandra, Kuja, Budha, Guru, Shukra, Shani, Rahu and Ketu. It is traditionally performed during unfavourable planetary periods, before a major life event or as part of a griha pravesham, praying for balance and relief from planetary afflictions. Each graha is invoked with its own mantra, samidha and grain offering.

- Samidhas of the nine planets (arka, palasha, khadira, apamarga, ashwattha, udumbara, shami, durva, kusha)
- Homa kundam or bricks, ghee and homa dravyams
- Navadhanyam and nine coloured cloths
- Kalasham, coconuts and mango leaves
- Turmeric, kumkum, flowers and fruits
- Camphor, incense and lamps
