About Rudra Homam
Rudra Homam is a fire ritual to Lord Shiva in which the Sri Rudram (Namakam and Chamakam) from the Yajur Veda is chanted with offerings into the fire. It is traditionally performed on Mondays, Maha Shivaratri or during Karthika masam, praying for peace, health and relief from difficulties. It is often preceded by a Rudrabhishekam.
