About Vasakal Pooja (Dwarabandhanam)
Vasakal Pooja, also called Dwarabandhanam, is performed when the main door frame of a new house is fixed during construction. The door frame is worshipped with turmeric, kumkum and flowers, and navaratnas or coins are often placed beneath it, following traditional Vastu practice. It is done on an auspicious muhurtham and is an important step before griha pravesham.
