About Vastu Shanti Pooja
Vastu Shanti Pooja honours Vastu Purusha, the deity of the dwelling, and the guardians of the eight directions, to correct Vastu doshas and bring harmony to a home. It is traditionally performed before moving into a new or renovated house, often together with griha pravesham. The ritual includes Ganapathi puja, Punyahavachanam, Vastu puja, Navagraha puja and a Vastu homam.
Vastu Shanti Pooja samagri list
- Vastu Purusha idol or yantra (if your family uses one)
- Coloured rice / grains for the mandala
- Homa kundam or bricks, samidha and ghee
- Navadhanyam and nine coloured cloths
- Kalasham, coconuts and mango leaves
- Turmeric, kumkum, sandalwood and akshata
- Flowers, garlands, fruits and betel leaves
- Camphor, incense and lamps
- Panchagavya (if your tradition uses it)
