आहारस्त्वपि सर्वस्य त्रिविधो भवति प्रियः ।
यज्ञस्तपस्तथा दानं तेषां भेदमिमं श्रृणु ॥
ఆహారస్త్వపి సర్వస్య త్రివిధో భవతి ప్రియః ।
యజ్ఞస్తపస్తథా దానం తేషాం భేదమిమం శ్రృణు ॥
āhārastvapi sarvasya trividho bhavati priyaḥ |
yajñastapastathā dānaṃ teṣāṃ bhedamimaṃ śrṛṇu ||
About chapter 17
Arjuna asks about those who worship with faith but without following scripture. Krishna explains that faith takes the colour of one’s nature — sattvic, rajasic or tamasic — and shows how the same three qualities appear in food, sacrifice, austerity and charity. He closes with the meaning of “Om Tat Sat”, which sanctifies every act of worship.
