Bhagavad Gita 1.35

I do not want to kill them, O Madhusudana, even if they kill me — not even for rule over the three worlds, let alone for this earth.

Sloka 1.35

etānna hantumicchāmi ghnato’pi madhusūdana |
api trailokyarājyasya hetoḥ kiṃ nu mahīkṛte ||

Meaning

I do not want to kill them, O Madhusudana, even if they kill me — not even for rule over the three worlds, let alone for this earth.

About chapter 1

On the battlefield of Kurukshetra, the Kaurava and Pandava armies stand ready for war. Arjuna asks Krishna, his charioteer, to place the chariot between the two armies. Seeing teachers, cousins and friends on the other side, he is overcome with grief, lays down his bow and refuses to fight. The whole teaching of the Gita grows out of this moment of doubt.
