drupado draupadeyāśca sarvaśaḥ pṛthivīpate |

Drupada, the sons of Draupadi and the mighty-armed son of Subhadra — all of them, O lord of the earth, blew their own conches on every side.
About chapter 1
On the battlefield of Kurukshetra, the Kaurava and Pandava armies stand ready for war. Arjuna asks Krishna, his charioteer, to place the chariot between the two armies. Seeing teachers, cousins and friends on the other side, he is overcome with grief, lays down his bow and refuses to fight. The whole teaching of the Gita grows out of this moment of doubt.
