About Chandi Saptashati Parayanam
Chandi Saptashati Parayanam is the recitation of the 700 verses of the Devi Mahatmyam, which tell of Goddess Durga’s victories over the demons. It is traditionally performed during Navaratri, on Ashtami or Navami, or at times of difficulty, praying for protection and strength. The recitation is done by trained priests with sankalpa, kalasha puja and aarti.
