About chapter 4
Krishna reveals that this yoga is ancient, and that he takes birth age after age to protect the good and restore dharma (4.7–4.8). He explains how to see inaction in action, the many forms of yajña, and why knowledge is the purest of all things. Knowledge is gained by humble enquiry and service to a teacher, and it burns away the effects of past action.
