About chapter 14
Krishna explains the three qualities (guṇas) of nature that bind the soul: sattva (goodness), which binds through attachment to happiness and knowledge; rajas (passion), through attachment to action; and tamas (ignorance), through laziness and delusion. He describes how to recognise each, and the person who rises above all three through unwavering devotion.
