About Mahamrityunjaya
Mahamrityunjaya Pooja is the worship of Lord Shiva as Mrityunjaya, the conqueror of death, with the chanting of the Maha Mrityunjaya mantra. Families traditionally perform it during illness, before surgery, on the birthdays of elders or during difficult planetary periods, praying for health and long life. The mantra is chanted with abhishekam and offerings to the Shiva linga.
