Rama, the ideal son, husband and king, is the embodiment of dharma; his birth is celebrated at noon, the hour given in the Valmiki Ramayana.
Sita Rama Kalyanam
In Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the wedding of Sita and Rama is celebrated on Navami itself — at Bhadrachalam, with pearls (talambralu) sent by the state.
Panakam and vadapappu
Jaggery-pepper panakam and soaked moong dal are the prasad — cooling foods for the start of summer.
